Acceptable Usage Policy

Last updated: September 10, 2026

This Acceptable Usage Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for using any service provided by Colcado Hosting (“Colcado Hosting”, “Colcado”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). It applies to all customers, users, and anyone accessing our network or infrastructure.

By ordering, accessing, or using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. If you do not agree with it, you must not use our services.

1. Strictly Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on our services:

  • Spamming
  • Attacking
  • Port Scanning
  • Crypto Mining
  • Child Abuse
  • Bulk Email Sending

These prohibitions are absolute. Violations may result in immediate suspension, termination without refund, and reporting to the relevant authorities.

2. Illegal Content and Activities

You must not use our services to store, distribute, or facilitate anything that is illegal under the laws of Netherlands, the European Union, or your own jurisdiction. This includes, without limitation:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits or endangers minors
  • Content that promotes terrorism, violence, or criminal activity
  • Traffic in illegal goods, stolen data, or stolen credentials
  • Fraudulent schemes, phishing pages, or financial scams
  • Content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward child exploitation. Any account found to store, distribute, or access such material will be terminated immediately and reported to law enforcement without prior notice.

3. Security and Network Abuse

You must not use our services to attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any system or network. Prohibited activities include:

  • Launching or facilitating denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks
  • Port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or network probing without explicit written authorization from the target owner
  • Penetration testing of systems you do not own or have permission to test
  • Operating botnets or command-and-control (C2) infrastructure
  • Brute-force attacks, credential stuffing, or password cracking
  • IP spoofing, packet-header falsification, or DNS amplification
  • Hosting exploit scripts, hacking tools, or malware of any kind
  • Operating open proxies, open relays, or open recursive DNS resolvers
  • Interfering with or denying service to any user, host, or network

4. Spam and Bulk Email

Our network is not intended for mass email delivery. The following are prohibited:

  • Sending unsolicited bulk email or commercial messages (“spam”)
  • Operating mail servers, relays, or mass-mailing infrastructure
  • Using email extractors, harvesting tools, or purchased address lists
  • Operating spam networks or promoting services through unsolicited communications

Outbound email ports (25, 465, and 587) are blocked by default. If you require email delivery for a legitimate application, contact us before ordering to discuss whether your use case can be accommodated.

5. Cryptocurrency Mining

Cryptocurrency mining is strictly prohibited on our services. This includes CPU, GPU, and any other form of mining, whether directly or through third-party services. Mining consumes shared resources far beyond what a VPS plan is designed to provide and degrades performance for every other customer on the host node.

6. Resource Usage and Fair Use

Our plans are sold with defined CPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth allocations. You agree to use our services within those allocations and to share the underlying hardware fairly with other customers.

  • CPU: Short bursts to full allocation are fine. Sustained usage that consistently maxes out your allocated cores may be throttled.
  • Disk I/O: Sustained high disk throughput that impacts other customers may be limited.
  • Network: Traffic is unmetered on a 1 Gbps port, but the connection is shared. Sustained saturation for extended periods may be throttled.
  • Storage: Your disk allocation is for the active operation of your server. It must not be used as long-term backup, archival, or bulk file storage, or as a content-delivery network.

We monitor resource usage to keep our infrastructure healthy. Where usage is excessive, we will contact you before taking action wherever practical.

7. Security Requirements

You are responsible for the security of your server. We require that you:

  • Use strong, unique credentials for your account and server
  • Keep your operating system and installed software up to date with security patches
  • Configure your firewall and access controls appropriately
  • Report any suspected compromise or security incident to us promptly

8. Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must not share your account credentials with others. Your account is for your own use.
  • You must not create multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension or termination.
  • You must provide accurate contact information and keep it current so we can reach you.

9. Monitoring and Enforcement

We monitor our network and services for policy violations, abuse reports, and security threats. We may investigate any account we reasonably believe is violating this policy.

Where a violation occurs, we may take any of the following actions, depending on severity:

  • Issue a warning and request remediation within a reasonable timeframe
  • Suspend the affected service until the issue is resolved
  • Terminate the service and the account immediately, without prior notice, for serious violations
  • Report the activity to the relevant authorities
  • Take legal action where necessary

We reserve the right to act immediately and without prior notice where a violation poses a risk to our network, our customers, or the public, or where the activity is clearly illegal.

No refunds will be issued for services suspended or terminated due to a violation of this policy. Services terminated for serious violations are not eligible for reactivation.

10. Reporting Abuse

If you believe one of our customers is violating this policy, please report it to abuse@colcado.com with as much detail as possible:

  • The date and time of the activity
  • The IP address or hostname involved
  • A description of the activity and supporting evidence (such as log excerpts)

We review every report we receive. A report does not automatically result in suspension; we validate the evidence before taking action.

11. Appeals

If your service was suspended or terminated and you believe this was done in error, you may appeal by opening a support ticket. Include an explanation of the circumstances and any evidence that supports your case. You must cooperate with our investigation, including providing access to the affected server where requested. We will review your appeal and inform you of the outcome.

12. Copyright and DMCA

We respond to valid copyright takedown notices in accordance with applicable law. If you believe content hosted on our network infringes your copyright, send a notice to abuse@colcado.com with the required details. Repeat copyright infringement will result in termination of the account.

13. Cooperation with Law Enforcement

We cooperate with law enforcement agencies where required by law. We may disclose account information in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or lawful request from a competent authority. Where legally permitted, we will notify the affected customer.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. Changes take effect immediately when posted on this page. Your continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
